Vadiaperti - Traerte
Vadiaperti - Traerte is a Campania-based producer based in Montefredane, in the province of Avellino, in the heart of Irpinia. Its identity stems from its connection to a rugged yet luminous Apennine landscape, where the vines grow on sometimes steep slopes, across a mosaic of altitudes ranging from 400 to 700 metres. Here, the interplay between sea breezes and land winds, combined with the area’s hilly and mountainous terrain, contributes to a cool and dynamic microclimate, conducive to slow ripening and a precise understanding of the local grape varieties.
The western part of Irpinia is also characterised by volcanic features, in particular the pumice of Avellino, an element that enriches the soil profile and reinforces the taut character associated with the region’s wines. Vadiaperti - Traerte interprets this context through traditional Campania grape varieties such as Fiano, Greco, Coda di Volpe, Falanghina and Aglianico, within a regional landscape in which appellations such as Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo are key points of reference.
The winemaking approach prioritises the raw material and continuity with Irpinia’s wine-growing tradition, combining care for the vineyard, technical expertise and respect for the natural characteristics of the terroir. The result is a style focused on distinctiveness: wines that express the freshness of the Apennines, savoury depth and an authentically Campanian character, with a profile that emphasises origin over effect.
