Tuturano is situated in the Salento plain, within the municipality of Brindisi, in a flat agricultural landscape that stretches between the hinterland and the Adriatic coast. The Mediterranean climate, with mild winters, hot summers and a constant breeze thanks to the proximity of the sea, supports a well-established wine-growing tradition and contributes to the even ripening of the grapes. The soils in the area are characterised by the presence of limestone, clay and sand, which support well-balanced vines and promote a good expression of the terroir.
The grape variety profile centres primarily on Negroamaro, the star of the red and rosé wines of the Brindisi appellation, alongside Susumaniello, the variety that defines the Brindisi region. Alongside the red grape varieties, there is also room for White Malvasia, Chardonnay, Fiano and Sauvignon, used for still and sparkling white wines. Local interpretations highlight fruity aromas, Mediterranean intensity, freshness and a harmonious palate, with styles ranging from immediate drinkability to greater structure. The rural history of the area, characterised by farmsteads, mixed cropping and ancient agricultural practices, continues to define the identity of Tuturano, where the winemaking tradition blends with olive groves, wooded areas and a bright, open and breezy countryside.
