Bonotto delle Tezze
Bonotto delle Tezze is a Venetian winery with deep roots in Tezze di Piave, in the Treviso area on the left bank of the River Piave. Its identity stems from the combination of centuries of documented agricultural continuity and a landscape characterised by the Treviso Pre-Alps, the river’s alluvial deposits and soils rich in gravel – often exposed at the surface – which promote drainage, vegetative balance and slow ripening. In this context, Raboso del Piave plays a central role: a historic, vigorous and late-ripening grape variety, it is regarded as an authentic expression of the local culture and the rural heritage of the area. The late harvest requires dry, well-drained soils, whilst the agronomic management outlined in the technical data sheets prioritises natural methods, the physiology of the vine and modern knowledge aimed at more sustainable viticulture. In the cellar, an approach that respects the raw material prevails: fermentation in stainless steel, carefully controlled maceration, natural decanting and ageing which, in the more structured reds, complement the character of Raboso without obscuring its acidity and depth. The result is a recognisable style, based on freshness, red fruit, floral notes and a lively structure, capable of accurately conveying the relationship between the grape variety, the soil and the Piave landscape.
