Ceraudo
Ceraudo is a Calabrian producer based in Contrada Dattilo, in the Strongoli Marina area, in the province of Crotone, where the hills overlook the Ionian coast and create a bright, breezy and deeply Mediterranean agricultural landscape. The project began in the 1970s and is distinguished by an early and consistent commitment to organic farming, applied to the vineyards in a setting where vines, olive trees and citrus trees contribute to an overall agricultural balance.
The wines are produced in the Strongoli Hills, under the Calabria IGT designation, and feature both indigenous grape varieties and international varieties that have become part of the local landscape. Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Greco Bianco, Mantonico and Pecorello form the core of the raw material that defines the wines’ identity, complemented by grapes that allow for different stylistic interpretations whilst always reflecting the character of the territory. The sea-facing aspect, the texture of the soil and the Ionian microclimate favour wines with a fresh, fragrant and sunny profile, with aromas evoking fruit, flowers and Mediterranean notes, and, in the whites, a savoury and mineral character.
The winemaking approach prioritises methods that respect the raw material, controlled fermentation and ageing processes designed to maintain balance, purity of expression and stylistic consistency. Ceraudo thus offers a contemporary take on Calabrian winemaking: rooted in local agricultural tradition, committed to sustainability and capable of bringing out the natural vitality of the hills overlooking the Ionian Sea.
