Ka' Manciné
Ka’ Manciné is a producer from western Liguria with strong ties to Rossese di Dolceacqua, a historic appellation in the far west of the region, in the hinterland of the province of Imperia and a short distance from the French border. The area in question is that of Soldano and the valleys surrounding Dolceacqua, a landscape of slopes, terraces and hillsides bathed in Mediterranean sunlight, where viticulture retains a strongly regional character.
The winery’s identity is based above all on its interpretation of Rossese, a sensitive grape variety capable of producing different nuances depending on the origin of the grapes. The most representative vineyards, including Beragna and Galeae, are described in the literature as terraced plots on marl-schist soils, set in a hilly landscape where altitude, ventilation and proximity to the sea all contribute to defining the wine’s aromas, freshness and savoury character.
The production approach prioritises a respectful handling of the raw material and measured interventions, with careful vineyard management and winemaking techniques designed to preserve the expression of the terroir. The use of stainless steel, noted in certain interpretations of Rossese, underscores a quest for clarity, avoiding excessive aromatic complexity. Ka’ Manciné’s wines are thus characterised by a refined, Mediterranean profile, featuring red fruit, floral and spicy notes, a light-bodied structure, subtle tannins and a freshness that complements the mineral character of the Dolceacqua terroir.
