Panevino
Panevino is a Sardinian producer based in the Nurri area, in the southern hinterland of the island, situated at the crossroads between the inland hills and Mediterranean influences. Its identity stems from a deeply agricultural approach to viticulture, rooted in old vineyards and plots characterised by varied soils, comprising red, schist, quartz and limestone components. This mosaic of soil types, combined with Sardinia’s dry and sunny climate, favours grapes with a strong textural character, where sun-ripened fruit is balanced by tension, savouriness and a distinct sense of place.
Work in the vineyard favours a natural and respectful approach, without the use of herbicides or pesticides, with a focus on soil health and the preservation of varietal biodiversity. Alongside Cannonau, the cornerstone of Sardinian viticulture, Panevino showcases numerous traditional grape varieties from the island, often interpreting them in a free and non-standardised way. In the winery, a minimalist approach prevails: spontaneous fermentation, minimal intervention, no filtration and extremely limited or no use of sulphur dioxide, so as to preserve a direct expression of the raw material.
Panevino’s wines are characterised by their vigour, depth and a deliberately unconventional personality. They are vibrant expressions, sometimes irregular in form but consistent in substance, capable of conveying the essence of inland Sardinia through fruit, spice, savouriness and an intense, artisanal and distinctive flavour profile.
