Teano is set amidst a hilly landscape shaped by the Roccamonfina volcanic massif, with varying altitudes and a natural alternation of slopes, terraces and valley areas. The temperate Mediterranean climate, characterised by hot summers, short winters and rainfall spread throughout the year, ensures the balanced ripening of the grapes and promotes distinct aromatic profiles.
The geological composition is particularly significant: pyroclastic materials, tuffs and soils of volcanic origin coexist with limestone substrates and alluvial deposits, creating a complex soil structure. In the vineyards, these soils help to promote vigour, good drainage and a distinctive savouriness, with a possible mineral and smoky character in the wines most closely linked to the terroir.
The local winemaking tradition is rooted in the long agricultural history of ancient Campania Felix and is today clearly defined within the Roccamonfina PGI, which encompasses the territory of Teano. Among the grape varieties worth highlighting are Falanghina, Coda di Volpe, Fiano and Greco for the whites, and Aglianico, Piedirosso, Primitivo and Sciascinoso for the reds. The range includes white, red and rosé wines, as well as sparkling and passito wines, produced using winemaking techniques that enhance freshness, structure, balance and varietal character.
